IT.SA IS CHANGING...

IT.SA IS CHANGING...

it.sa will be joining forces with the Dante Alighieri Society of South Australia Inc as their youth sub-committee.

The Dante Alighieri Society of SA (DA) was founded in 1964 with the aim of promoting Italian language and culture; reanimating the links between Italians living abroad and their homeland, and nourishing and disseminating a love of Italian culture throughout the world.

There are currently more than 450 DA branches around the world with the number continuing to grow. The Adelaide branch provides Italian language classes and Italian proficiency certification, organises musical recitals and public lectures on Italian language and culture and supports the South Australian State Opera Company and Italian film festival.

it.sa also shares similar aims and objectives as DA, and we feel now is the perfect time to bring together two of South Australia’s Italian associations who promote the same thing and operate under the one umbrella.

The it.sa sub-committee will continue to provide its members with great social and cultural events; be involved in projects and community engagement as currently undertaken on a regular basis with Radio Italiana, but also continue to provide an advocacy service to the youth of South Australia with information and a forum to engage with modern-day Italy, with space for dialogue, exchange and divertimento (fun and excitement).

This merge doesn’t mean the end of it.sa as of such, but what it will entail is the dissolution of it.sa operating as a sole entity. As we now move under the leadership umbrella of DA and become a Youth sub-committee.

We are excited about moving into this new phase, as we have already established ourselves in the community, and now we will have the opportunity to strengthen those established links with the broader Italian Community of South Australia.

Community Involvement

The it.sa media unit and Public Relations Officer are present at every it.sa event, and any event involving young Italian-Australians from South Australia.

It is responsible for the coordination of media contacts and works in close collaboration with the Events Committee and Marketing and Promotions Committee. This insures that every it.sa event is a success and the involvement of all young Italian-Australians from South Australia in the community is rightly highlighted.

Please contact it.sa if you know of an upcoming event that involves or show cases South Australia's young Italian-Australians.
