150 YEARS OF THE UNIFICATION OF ITALY (1861-2011)
On March 17, Italy celebrated it's 150 years of unification.
On that day in 1861, Victor Emmanuel II became the first king of a unified Italy. It was the culmination of the Risorgimento, the movement for independence that for years struggled to free the country from foreign rule and unite several micro-states.
To celebrate this anniversary in Adelaide, the Italian Consulate along with the Co-ordinating Italian Committee, will be holding a ball on Saturday, June 25 at the Hilton Hotel. Please contact mail@cicinc.com.au for more information.
